This morning William was arguing with me as usual about wanting a sippy cup. He has known for some time now that sippy cups are not allowed in the house. He has to use a big boy cup inside, but can bring a sippy with him in the car. We've had this arrangement for over 6 months, but it's still an issue.
We recently got back from my mom's house where sippy cups ARE allowed.
Anyway, I knew his argument this morning had something to do with the fact that he'd been using a sippy for the last few days at Nana's. So, I explained to him the rules are that he can have a sippy in the car and at Nana's house. He of course asked why. I said because that's just what Nana wants at her house and we do what she asks at her house and at our house we do what Mommy and Daddy ask.
William responded "because this house is old, and the other one is pretty, right?" Thanks William. You are right this house is old...and spills don't matter...whereas at Nana's pretty house we don't want to mess it up. He's very perceptive...but not very tactful. I guess I'd better work on "prettying" up my house:)
